not sure if this exact question has been asked about the nitto 555r?

I am thinking about getting the nitto 555r tires 275/40/17. I know people ask if they are good street tires but I think they ask that to see if they are drivable in the rain. But I was wondering if these tires actually stick good on the street and not just at the track? Also when I order these do I need to know the width of my tire. All I know is that my tires I have on now show 275/40/17. Is this the only size I can get? Thanks for any help.

Yea, they stick good on the street. All of us around here run them. Just don't try anything in the rain.

On the street, any soft tire will need to be cleaned off before you'll get decent traction. Soft tires are also not so soft when it is cold.
