not satisfied with 275 35 18's
hey guys, i was just washing my 97 z28 and i stepped baCK TO admire it (you do it too) and i have to say taht im really not to pleased with how the 275 35 18's look, i just recently bought a new set and the guy at discount talked me into buying 4 of the same to allow for rotation.. i originally had 275 40 18s on the back and man it looked alot meaner, granted it was rubbing some
i just dont like the amount of space there is between the tire and the wheel well on front or back... any suggestions on the next set?? or maybe lowering it?? i really liked it when the back end was higher then the front also.. thanks in advance!

What wheels do you have them on.... width and offset?
There is no reason a 275/40-18 should be rubbing on anything on a stock height car. That's a 26.66" tire and will only be sticking up 1/4" higher (if your car came with the base 235/55-16 tire, 26.18") to 1/2" higher than the stock tire diameter (if your car had the Z-rated 245/50-16, 25.65") tire.
When and where did the 275/40's rub?

man gr8 question, the wheels i ahve on came withthe car when i bought it, they are 18" z06 wheels if i knew how to post a pic i would but here is a link:

in regards to the rubbing, do you think that my shocks are just worn and they sag... maybe??

I depends on the offset. If those are the EXACT wheels (18x9.5 56mm offset), they should not rub on anything at all. They should be centered in the wheel well, and have a good gap between the inside of the tire and the inner fender, and the outside of the tire and the fender lip.
But there are all kinds of "Z06" wheels available, and the repro offsets vary all over the place, and the factory wheels are not 18x9.5. They are 18x10.5 with a 58mm offset. Those will be very likely to cause the tires to rub on the inside, because of the deep backspace.
You need to take some measurements of the wheels, in order to determine what is causing the tires to rub. Shocks don't "sag".... they don't control the ride height at all (other than a minor effect from the gas pressure in "gas pressure" shocks). If they are badly worn, they may allow the suspension to compress excessively.
