new rims/tires; need your input

I'm putting on 19X8.5 rims on my 00' camaro Z28. In terms of tires i'm not sure what would work best for my car. I want low profiles but i'm not sure how low is considered bad in terms of damaging my car. I was thinking about putting on 255/35R19 on both the front and rear. Is that too lo-pro? BC i don't want have to replace tires and rims bc of potholes in the road.

Also, I might get wider tires in the back and possibly 20's in the rear. Would staggered rims be a bad decision? (with 19's in the front).
-Any comments/concers are welcomed i'm just trying to make a good decision. THANKS

I would do the 255 if i were you. Maybe 265's. Look into the stickies on the top of this section. They will provide the info that will tell you what will fit and what wont. Also your probably going to have to run 255/30/19 too.

Thumbs up

255/35/19s is 26" tall, which is a little taller than stock . You'll be fine with that size, no problem.

Depends whether his car came with the base 235/55-16 tires (26.1") or the optional Z-rated 255/50-16's (25.7").

hey guys, thanks a lot for the input.
Based on your feedback and some of my own research I think I'm set on Black 19X8.5 rims with 255/40R19 tires. I would throw them on right now but the winter season approaching will have to delay it until at least March.
Will Upload pics as soon as they're on

Lightbulb

FYI,
You do know the a 255/40/19 is 27" tall, correct?
A 255/35/19 (26" tall) is closer the stock height.
