Need wheel advice (17")
So I'm currently pimping the lovely salad shooters and everytime I see a picture online of a 93-97 with 17s (like ZR-1 style or Y2k corvette style) I get anxious. I've decided I really like the look.
My RE-750s in stock size are going to be all worn out by the end of this season (they're arguably worn out now) and my snows don't have their own wheels. I was planning on mounting the snows back on the salad shooters, then leaving them that way. Next season (maybe around March) I could get a nice set of 17s, get some nice tires, and then have a dedicated set of winter and summer wheels, like I have with my Caprice.
As I mentioned before, I've narrowed it down to ZR-1 style or Y2k style. Polished is nice, and chromed is fine as long as the finish is durable.
I want to run the same wheels and tires all the way around the car.
I also don't know if I want to run 275/40s as the tramline will be worse AND the tire cost is more. So that leaves 245/45, which would probably need an 8.5" wide wheel, much like front Y2k C5 wheels.
Are those the correct offset? If anything, I'd want them to be slightly outboard, rather than inboard.
What factory ZR-1-style wheels are there in 17x8.5, if any? I know I like the LS1 Camaro SS 5-spokes, but I think they are at least 9 inches wide. I could just suck it up and run the 275s I guess...

I have 275/40ZR17's on my 17X9.5's. If you change your mind on your wheels that you want, I have my set of OEM Z06 Gunmetal grey 17X9.5's I will be selling with a great set of tires in the spring.

Yep. The rims are all 17X9.5 The tires on the back are new Nitto Extreme IIR DR's, and on the front I have the 555R street radials with 90+% tread left. All tire sizes are 275/40/ZR17's.

Re: Need wheel advice (17")
If you are interested in them, I would sell you them for a price you could afford to get street tires for the back as well. Then if you found a set of other 17's you could possible mount the DR's for the track Or you could probably just sell them.
I don't mean to be pushing this at all because I am confident I will sell them anyhow. Just if you are interested is all.

Re: Need wheel advice (17")
Well you have me interested. But I just remembered that my safety/emissions inspection is up this week and I need to see if my tires pass. If they don't pass, I will have to figure something out that unfortunately may involve buying some tires very soon. If they pass, maybe we can talk price on PM or something.
What would a black Camaro look like with gunmetal Z06's anyway?

Yes I know sidewall makes all the difference in the world but I have yet to find a pair of 245/50/16 STREET tires that hook as well as my 275s
Now if we are talking about drag radials then that all changes.

Actually Gunmetal Grey Z06 rims on a black Camaro is my favorite combo with them. That's where I originally got the idea of putting those rims on my Camaro came from. I don't have any pics, but do a search and see what you come up with. Personally I think they look sweet!
Let me know whenever if you want to talk about buying mine and we'll talk about them via PM. I'm not in any hurry as mentioned before the soonest I could sell them would be this fall.
