My back wheels are stuck?
My back wheels are stuck?
Anyone know why my back wheels are stuck ? Stuck as in i take the bolts out and kick the living crap out of it and it still does not come off. I havent tried the other. But i assume it is stuck too. But what do I do ?
Re: My back wheels are stuck?
It happens - oxidation on the wheel/hub mounting surfaces. Put a piece of 2x4 on the inner wheel/tire surface (to protect it), and start hammering... the wheel will eventually break free.
EDIT: Ya, and make sure you don't knock the car off the jack while you're doing that!

Yeah and put one of the lug nuts on just a couple of threads so when the wheel does come free it won't fly off and hit something (like your quarter panel or the jack). Don't be surprised if you have to slam the hell out of it with a hammer to get it to break free.

It gets really hard to answer a question like this, when you didn't even tell us what year car, or what kind of wheels.
Taking a guess, I suspect you may have put "late model" (97 or newer) F-Body or 'vette wheels on an "early model" (pre-late 96) 4th Gen. The rear hubs on the "early model" 4th Gens are larger than the front hubs, and if you put "late model" wheels on them, you have to sand or grind down the inner circumfrence of the hub holes in the wheel, to eliminate the interference. If this is a correct guess, you're lucky the wheels didn't crack.
Add some info about the car and the wheels and no one will have to guess....
