MT ET Streets - Widest tires that will fit

On 15x10 Prostars, has anyone had a 28x13.5 Et Street fit? would you have to go with the 6.5" backspace instead of the 7.5"? I know that the 12.5 has roughly the same section width as the MT ET 325/50/15 drag radial, but I'm wondering if you can go any larger without having clearance issues.

thanks in advance for the input

The M/T website spec sheets show the 28x13.5 with a 13.2" section width. I'm running 28x10.5-15W ET Drags with a 13.1" section width on a 7.5" backspace, no problems. The inner fenders has already been hammered for 315 BFG Drag radials on 11" wheels, and a did a bit of touchup to the hammering.

The biggest problem with the 28's is hitting the quarter panel in the front or the bumper cover in the rear, when they grow at the top end.

Use the 6.5" backspace, and the tire moves out 1" from where these are.....

I would also think that the 6.5" BS would put the fender lip down on the sidewall or into the tread if the rear squatted at all.

thanks, I appreciate the response. Do you think that the 28's are worth it over the 26's considering the mods needed to make them work?

26's are probably fine for anything up to 500-600HP.
