Help with spacers.

Help with spacers.
I didn't plan on needing spacers for the front rims (18x8.5) so now I have to find half inch spacers. I am so ready to get my car back out on the road. Where can get a good brand with a good deal. Just need a pair.

Re: Help with spacers.
Are they OEM 18 x 8.5" 54mm offset wheels? If so, they should fit. There are numerous photos in the FAQ of 4th Gens with these wheels, and no spacers. What year is your car? What brakes does it have? Why does the shop think you need 1/2" spacers?

Re: Help with spacers.
They said it would hit? I told them that read online it should be fine. I have z rated tires on them too. They kept telling me they were for sure? I was mad. I want them to try tower the car down and see what happenes.

Re: Help with spacers.
It will hit on "what"?
With a 54mm offset, the 8.5" wheel will have about 0.10" less backspace, and about 0.40" less "frontspace" than the stock 17x9.0" 50mm WS6/SS wheels. It's narrower that the stock WS6/SS wheels. Why would it rub on anything?
What size tire do you have on it?
And you didn't anwer the question - are they "real" Corvette 18 x 8.5" wheels, with the offset I mentioned above, or are they aftermarket wheels with a different offset? That's what determines if anything will rub.
This (front only) is a 9.5" wide wheel with 56mm offset, making it quite a bit wider than the 8.5" wheel, with a 275 tire, and it doesn't rub on anything:

Re: Help with spacers.
The shop is something else, I went there and asked them to just try it out and.....what do ya know. It worked, they look so good. I could have drove off with it but something is wrong with the fan or there's a leak with the coolant. It was running warm and fan wouldn't kick on.....wanted this bad today so I could have it pn the 4th. . I hope it doesn't take to much work fix that problem. I'll have to upload the pictures soon!
