Frontrunners with 13" rotors?
Re: Frontrunners with 13" rotors?
Buddy of mine wanted to keep the appearance of his 30th SS convertible as "stock" as possible. The car was running mid 9's at over 150MPH and still had a pair of white 17" SS wheels on the front. He ran the 17's because he had the Baer 13" track pack front brakes and the car was street driven. The wheels had been narrowed to 17x6" and were running 205 width Pirelli's. For a couple years Art Carr used a picture of the car in his tranny advertising.
It was only when he decided the car wasn't fast enough that he decided being street driven wasn't practical, switched to Mark Williams light weight drag racing brakes and put a pair of 15x3.5" AutoDrags on the front. His decision was also helped along after he dropped the car too hard from a wheelstand, and the 17" SS wheel rim cut through the Pirelli tire, and the car wound up against the wall at the track. Car eventually ran 8.60 at well over 160MPH, but he was always disappointed that it wasn't still a "street car".
You have to accept what a327vette is trying to do...... its his preference. Why keep arguing with him?
