flat tire = new rubber
flat tire = new rubber
Well... i was on my way back from Wickliffe (east of cleveland) to Toledo where i go to school. Just after i got passed cleveland i got a flat tire. 3 quarters of the way around the tire is seperated from the sidewall. It looks like a nascar blowout. Anyways it was the right rear tire, and i was going 65mph when it happened. I didnt lose control which was good. I changed it to the spare and left it at my aunts house who luckily lived 3 exits away (near avon). I didnt want to drive all the way to toledo on a doughnut. Anyways my dad just ordered me 4 all new tires for the stock rims. He got goodyear eagle gt-hr's. They look pretty good from the pics i saw off goodyears website. Anyone have these tires?
one other question. Im lowered with eibach prokits. Would i still be able to put spacers on the wheels in the back so it looks a little wider or do you guys think i would end up rubbing?

Re: flat tire = new rubber
You should never drive with a space saver spare on a solid axle.
You don't mention tire size, but Tirerack.com rates those tires acceptably, except for snow.

Put wider tires on and ditch the spacers.

No i didnt drive with my spare on for very long. Just a few exits so i could leave the car at my aunts until my dad picked up the new tires.
anyways the tires are 235/55/16 if i remember right off the top of my head... I dont have any choice now as to put wider tires on or anything since my dads paying for it. i dont have a job here yet at school.
