Firestone Wide Ovals in rear, G-Force Sports in front ...
Well I've been researching what I believe to be the most desireable tire sizes for my upcoming rim/tire purchase (OE Wheels C5 Deep Dish replicas, 18 x 9.5 in the front and 18 x 10.5 in the rear).
They already carry a ton of 295/35/18 Firestone Wide Ovals (already mounted/balanced) for their E-bay deals. I like the tire reviews from what I've read so I'll stick with that for the rear (I like the 26.1" height and the sidewall being 103.25 mm as that helps ride and ground clearance a tad compared to smaller 35 series tires). This tire is not available in the 275-285/35R18 size I desire for the front. UTQG = 320 AA-A.
The BFG G-Force Sport is available in 275/35/18 and is slightly over-sized compared to most brands at 25.8" tall (PERFECT). I like this height because it's slightly lower than the rear Wide Ovals at their 26.1" ...yet taller than stock 245/50/16 height of 25.67". This sidewall height is about 100 mm; again this should help the ride quality to be not much more harsh than 275/40's would be on 17's ....(110 mm). UTQG = 340 AA-A ....similar. This tire is not available in the 295/35/18 size I desire for the rear.
I think these tires will provide a balanced look and balanced handling for the 18 x 9.5 and 18 x 10.5 combination in spite of running different brands front and rear (can't rotate anyway). Both tires seem to yield very similar reviews and are considered to be mainly summer tires. This has been an exhaustive search. Does anyone have advice to the contrary?
Thanks,
Charlie

Re: Firestone Wide Ovals in rear, G-Force Sports in front ...
I doubt you would have any issues. I doubt most anyone would be able to notice a handling difference (ther may be a few, but they get paid to drive) between those tires. It's not like you are trying to run an R-compound road race tire on one end, and some Sailun crap on the other.
Aaarrghhhhh! Hours and hours researching this stuff and ......... the BFG G-Force Sport is unavailable in 285/35/18 for an uncertain period of time. Could back-order and take up to six months. Out of stock on a national level. Then I decided I'd run the Wide Ovals in the front with 275/40/18 .....can't have that either. I'm about to give up ...sheesh. Everthing I want to do is a dead end.
I guess I just need to figure out a front tire that's comparable to the G-Force Sport or the Wide Oval in a 275/35/18 size ..... (and then be told it's out of stock too .....)

The nitto nt555 can easily be found in a 275/35/18 and do really well, ive run them on my front wheels of my car and like them a lot for a street tire
