Factory polished salad shooters??
Factory polished salad shooters??
I just bought a 1996 z28 A4. It came with factory polished salad shooters. Are these rare? I havent seen any others like them. The guy I bought it from said it was a special edition z28 and they were optional. It has custom harley embroidered leather seats also, which I have no idea who or where these came from. He also told me it has optional 3.73 gears in it also. ANyhow, just wondering if the car is realy "custom" or what since I havent seen any polished salad shooters? They look like factory and don't have any damage to them at all. Maybe they are worth something???
RPO 98 chrome wheels were available as an option on all 1996 Camaros (except the SS). Cost was $500 on a Z28 and $775 on a "base" V6 model. According to the Camaro White Book, 4,781 sets of the wheels were sold.
The seats are actually very rare. They probably came out of an "aftermarket" (actually build by Harley) 1996 Trans Am Harley Davidson edition. This is the info on that car from the F-Body FAQ:
No 4th Gens left the factory with 3.73 rear axle ratio.

In 1996, the Harley Davidson Edition Trans Am was available. Harley took a black Trans Am equipped with the WS6 Ram Air package (without the interior from the factory) and added leather/fabric seats, which are embroidered with the Harley Davidson logo. The car also has Harley Davidson decals on the front quarter panels just behind the tires. Only 40 are known to have been made with most of them being distributed in Southern California.
I just picked up a set of chrome salad shooters (may be for sale soon if anyone is interested). I saw them on a Camaro driving around town and really, REALLY liked how they looked on the car.
You should post up some pictures of the seats though. That way someone can tell if they are T/A seats, or if someone just had the Camaro seats redone like that.
