Drag Radials rear/ Front???

...I've got a set of BF Goodrich drag radials being shipped for the rear
of my car {'94 Firebird, I've got the Y2K Rims}. I want the drag radials
on the rear for traction but what about on the front??? I don't want
to give up any more cornering ability than necessary. Can I get the
drag radials for the front also??? Or what would you folks recommend???
{I did a search already}..... Thanks a bunch, Bill.....

Dumb & Dumber, drag radials on the front so he won't lose cornering ablilty. Should go to driving school 101 before being let out on the road with those ideas.

ps, oh, and by the way, as far as driving school 101? I was probably driving when you were in diapers.... Oh YOUR STILL IN DIAPERS???? Ghiz whiz, I hope your mom remembers to change them at least once a week.....

Bird****
In my opinion, the way you wrote your question is why I called you DUMB & DUMBER and with your reply, it confirmed my original call. I was too polite with the driving school 101, now I know you are one of the outstanding Bird**** for Brains that post on this Form.

Drag radials on all four corners make it stick like glue. The only problem is the rapid tread wear.

I hope you don't drive your car very much, either that or you better be rich. When I ran BFG DR's they lasted about 4 months, and I was only at the track 1 time for 3 runs.

Good call Jason... "billsbird" asked for a little help, and really didn't need the grief and name calling. We're all here to help, not flame.

I run BFG Drag Radials in the back, and BFG KDW's in the front. Seems like a fairly decent combo. Generally, a car set up primarily for drag racing is not going to be a heavy duty corner carver.... there are just too many compromises.

Re: Drag Radials rear/ Front???

...Thank you Joe97ra, Blue89Bird, & Injuneer. I'm either going to go with drag radials all around or a combo of drag radials/BF Goodrich KDW's. I was set on the Drag radials all around but if the KDW's are a match they'd last longer. I mainly want
good straight line traction but if I do go around an occaisonal corner fast I don't
want to 'lose it' due to a mis-match in tires. I also have a set of 15x4 rims for a trip to the drags once in a while. I have had 15x4's on the front on the street before and always found myself FORGETTING and going around corners to fast!

Jason, I agree, Flaming of any kind should not be allowed......

87DJP2001, Even though I did feel and I still feel that your original comment was out of line. It was still wrong of me to respond to you like I did. And Two wrongs DON'T make a right. So-o-o-o please accept my appoligies. I'm sorry..... Billsbird.....

Re: Drag Radials rear/ Front???

just go bf drag on the rear and nito 555 (no drag) on front and you would be on the top of traction, remember bf drag hold very good but don't last

Re: Drag Radials rear/ Front???

Adding my .02, if you want to ditch the skinnies altogether look at the Kumho 711s. They are, according to Tire Rack, a few pounds lighter per tire. It may help take a little weight off of the nose. They are very inexpensive, and the reviews are favorable for a tire that costs $60. I wouldn't recommend running DRs in the front because they really don't work well in the rain. I'd rather have good water traction under my steering wheel at least...You know we all get caught in the rain...

I run a 16" ZR1 in the front and a 17" ZR1 in the rear...These are factory (forged) and also a few pounds lighter per wheel than aftermarkets (cast). I'm looking into the Kumho 711s, 245 45 r16s, $57/each from Tire Rack to Replace my Pirelli P8000s which weigh a ton. Nothing cooler than a stock looking ride running 11s...Good luck in whatever you decide..

This has become the most popular pair since the KDW2 and the "New" style DR look so much alike.
