Question difference between wheel sizes?

what would be the difference between say 215/60/r16 nand 245/50/r16???

would the 245s be wider and what do the measurements mean?

Go to the FAQ "stickied" at the top of the wheels and tires forum. It explains tire (not "wheel") measurements.

The first number of the tire size is the width of the tire, at the widest point, in millimeters. A 215 is about 8.5" wide at the bulges in the sidewall, when mounted on the correct width wheel. A 245 is about 9.7" wide at the same point.
