Dayton Daytona ZR's?

I'm in the market for new tires and someone in my area will sell me a set of Dayton Daytona ZR's for $300. Basically the tires have lots of thread left about 75%-80%. I've been doing a search on here and no one has talked about these tires. If someone is using these tires please let me know how you like them.

I am a total noob when it comes to tires so recently I've been searching around and reading the expiriences that people on here are having with tires. I know you get what you pay for but are these tires even worth buying? Cause if not then I'm leaning towards Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (if I can find a good deal on them), Fuzion ZRi and Firehawk Wide Oval.

Please help guys, I will totally appreciate it. Have a great day guys!

Re: Dayton Daytona ZR's?

I had these tires on my stock 16's. They were a 245/50/zr16 set. I liked them overall, they compare pretty evenly to my Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's. They wouldn't compare to the GS-D3's or the Wideovals. If you don't race your car a lot, you would love them. But, If you don't need a grippy tire to really hook with, I would go elsewhere.

So you would say that these tires would hook pretty good? Cause I would like something that would feel safe driving in the rain you know. Something like 80MPH in the rain and still be able to grip.

Ok... tired that "hook" or "grip" nicely, are going to be complete **** in the rain. Just a tidbit of info for ya. And keep in mind the wider you go, the worse it's going to handle in the rain.

I feel that high speeds in the rain is a bad idea no matter what tires you have. I never lost control or felt unsafe at 70-80 in the rain. The tires I had would be a smaller size than on your 17's, though. I never had significant trouble hooking with my relatively stock car.

So you wouldn't recommend these tires then? Its weird, it has the exact same thread pattern as the Fuzion ZRi's.

Of course high speeds in the rain would not be a good idea. I would just like to feel save driving in the rain at 80 in the rain (only if I had too of course heehee). So would you recommend these tires?
