can't find a 295/35/17 tire!

I am in iraq right now and am ordering parts to start my build up and having them sent home. I can't locate a 295/35/17 tire on the net. I have been to tirerack.com(my favorite) and tireplus.com
Where else can i find this size tire?
Thanks guys
Tony

I dont find anything in a 295/35/17 either. Tire Rack shows 22 choices for a 315/35/17 which would fit your 11" wheel, or the next size down there is a 285/40/17 but that would be pretty small for an 11" wheel. If I'm reading you right, your running a 18x10 wheel up front and 17x11 out back? If that is the case why not just go with a 315/35/17 out back. Thats seems like an unusual combo, but maybe thats just me

Curious as to why you have a taller wheel in front?

I've never seen a 295/35-17. It would also be 1/2" smaller in outside diameter than the typical 275/40-17 or 315/35-17. The last 2 tires exactly match the stock 245/50-16 diameter.

well that sucks, so basically i can't get a tire larger than 275 EXCEPT for a 315?? That's a damn ****ty selecion? No one knows of any other sizes but these two for decently wide sizes?

There's a 285/40-17. What do you have against the 315/35?

nothing against a 315/35 except that it is going on a 17x9.5 rim, too big of tire in my opinion

Re: can't find a 295/35/17 tire!

I was always told you add 20% of the wheel's width to find the max tire. This also assumes an everage height sidewall (and not rubberbands). I was told never to over 20% unless a manufacturer says otherwise. For example the nitto 315's are a little narrower compared to other 315 tires... (some say they're more like a 305 then a 315)

By the 20% formula, that says a 285 is the widest on a 9.5" rim
By the 20% formula, that says a 335 is the widest on a 11" rim

I'd stick with the 275's and 315's.

I was debating on going to 315's all around - they will fit on an fbody with a little work, but I was not in the mood to deal with the track as the car is going down the road. It takes a bit of force to turn the wheel with 275s over 245s - and the thought of going larger? What is there to gain aside from more expensive tires. You'll have a harder time matching sets, the 295's wouldnt match the stock diameter, and it'll be harder to drive then a 275 in front. Adjust your suspension dial-in if you want to change the handling. If you're going all out or really want grip, step up to 315's.

I'd say step to the 275 or 315. Somewhere in the middle will probably just cost you more money...

Your signature says you have 17x11's???? The 1st response from GREGG discussed "your 11" wheel", and you didn't correct him.

Is this some sort of joke? You've wasted a lot of people's time.

Re: can't find a 295/35/17 tire!

i asked about a 295 tire originally because i have a 17x9.5 rim. I never brought up the fact of neding a tire for an 11in rim. I already have rims and tires for the back of my car. I inquired about tires for the front.
sorry for the misunderstanding.
