I just did some calculations and thought I'd post them here for anyone interested.

Using this tire calculator

Stock SS wheels (17x9)............C7 wheels .....Overall Dia. Difference of tire... Height Increase of Car
Front 275/40/17....................275/35/18....................-0.08..................................-.04
Rear 275/40/17.....................295/35/19....................+1.47....................... ..........+0.735
.............................................295/30/19....................+0.31....................... ..........+0.155

So basically your car will lower very slightly in the front and increase by almost 3/4 of an inch in the rear. With 35 series tires.
If you go with a 30 series tire out back the increase in height will only be 0.155"

.

Half the diameter though. Half the diameter increases above the axle, and half below it. So you only increase your ground clearance by 1/2 the increase in diameter.

Tire diameter = +1" taller than stock, ground clearance only increases by +1/2".

Thanks for that clarification. I edited my last post.

Re: C6 OEM Wheels on a 4th Gen

I just wanted everyone to know that a dude at the gas station said this the other day, people notice!

Dude- "Man those are massive wheels on the back of that thing! Corvette, right?"

Me- "Yep, blah blah blah about putting the Vette wheels on the Camaro..."

Dude- "Jeebus they're huge."

Me- "Thanks, I get that a lot."

Re: C6 OEM Wheels on a 4th Gen

a couple questions...

First of all, does anyone know of a good site to buy replica corvette wheels from? something that has good quality and isn't suuuuper expensive. I found this site....http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels-fo...02230-3-1.html does anyone have any experience with them??

also, i would like to purchase the wheels that are on that link

17x9.5 with a 54mm offset in the front
18x10.5 with a 56mm offset in the rear

i am unfamiliar with offset and how to figure out how much i need/dont need.
What would i need in order to get these to fit while still maintaining the best appearance with no rub, except for possibly the occasional bump.

tires sizes are undecided, i wouldn't mind some input on what would be a good fit for this combo.
Thinking the widest possible rear tire (hoping for 305??) with a 35 profile and a 265/275 front tire with a 40 profile.

thank you in advance

Re: C6 OEM Wheels on a 4th Gen

I can finally add my pics to this thread. I picked up a set of polished take off wheels for $400 with less than 100 miles on them, 4 Contintental tires with 8/32" off of Ebay for $400 delivered, and a set of 1-1/4" spacers off of Ebay for $50. Total investment of $870 mounted and balanced. I love the look! What do you guys think?

Re: C6 OEM Wheels on a 4th Gen

I ordered some c6 rims and I'm about to put them on. I had to order tires for the back. 19x10. I was doing some reading on here and saw I would need spacers. Will 1 1/4 in be enough or will I need to do something else?

I did 1.5" adapters but I've seen here that many people did 1.25" and it would seem both work fine. It may also depend on the tires you use. You may need that extra .25" on the inside if they're 'fat'...

OK so I totally lied about all that. I went down and measured just now and mine are 1.25" adapters too. Dunno why I thought they were wider.

At the shop where my car is, they said I need spacers for the front I thought I read on here people only did for the back. I gotta order those now and then hopefully she'll be back on the road soon.

My fronts were a direct bolt-on and don't rub at all. You could maybe put adapters (not spacers, those are dangerous IMHO) on the fronts to 'space them out' to match the rear track width, but it wouldn't be necessary.

I can post pics of the adapters or email them to you, if you're not sure what the difference is. Actually, in the link I posted here somewhere of a photo album of my car with the wheels, I think there's also a pic of the adapters in that album...
