Best tire choice for stock rims (LE2 daily driver)

Ok, I'm combed over the forums a fair amount...still can't decide what to do. I'd like to keep running my stock 16" rims for now, but my normal street radials are useless with my new LE2 setup. If I don't go with DR's in the back, and instead stick with having 4 of the same tires so I can rotate, what would be some recommendations on the stickiest tire I can get and still be safe in the rain (will need to haul around kids some). I'd love to go to 255/50/16 all the way around if it won't rub up front, but that seems to be a fairly uncommon size.

Thanks in advance!

im pretty sure you can fit 275's without a problem. get a good bfg street tire and you should be all set

Really ? Wow...I figured 275's would rub on the front with my stock rims.

275s are too wide for the stock 16x8 wheels.... look into goodyear gsd3 - supposed to be a pretty sticky street tire from what i hear

Go to Tire Rack, search on the size you want, and look at the user reviews for the tires you are interested in. They rate wet and dry traction. This feedback is from average people, who may not be performance oriented, but given the large amount of feedback the surveys get, its a good starting place.

A 255/50-16 will not rub in the front. You aren't going to find anything in the way of a true "high performance" tire or drag radial wider than 255.

Injuneer,

For stock rims and mostly DD LE2 setup, would you go with Goodyear GS-D3's in 245/50/16 or BFG G-force Sport in 255/50/16? I went to Tire Rack and it looks like my choices are pretty limited in 255/50/16.

Thanks!
