back spacing question?
back spacing question?
I have a 97 WS6 and im looking at the ADR M sport wheels and they say that fit my car, on the 18 by 9.5 the back spacing is 35mm. I dont know if that sounds right or not.

Re: back spacing question?
Those appear to be 120mm bolt circle. You are aware that is a BMW pattern, and not the 120.65mm specified for a 3rd or 4th Gen F-Body? Some people are willing to risk running the BMW spec wheels on our cars, but I wouldn't.
That said, 35mm is not the backspace, it is the "offset"..... the amount the mounting surface of the hub is offset from the centerline of the wheel. That puts the edge of the wheel/tire very close to the outside edge of the fender (maybe even outside of it). Some people like that look, others don't. My general recommendaton is an offset in the range fo 45mm - 56mm. To me, those look like they sit better in the fenders.... but again, its purely personal preferrence. And, moving the tire further out increases the amount of road debris that sandblasts your quarter panels.
