Back spacing help

I have a 92 Z28 and I'm looking to put a new set of wheels on her. I want to run 18" all around 18x9 in front and 18x10 back. What I like to know is what back spacing should I go with.

Re: Back spacing help

Not a lot of help, because seems like all the 3rd Gen owners have left the site.

Your signature indicates your current rear wheels as "19.10" which I assume means 19" x 10" wide. My sources indicate the stock C5 Z06 wheels are 18" x 10.5", so that's a bit confusing. Appears what you actually have is C6 base model wheels. Might want to clarify.

If you already have 10" wide wheels, and they don't rub, just measure their backspace and match with the new 18" x 10" wheels. I would assume that to put OEM Corvette wheels on a 3rd Gen you would have had to install fairly large spacers/adapters. The dimension of the spacer has to be considered when measuring the current backspace.

In the front, current wheel is unclear ("18.5").

Re: Back spacing help

OK.... gets even more confusing. I see from a post way back in 2013 that you discovered that your 92 actually has a much wider 4th Gen rear. That info is critical to determining the wheel backspace. That would also indicate that you don't need the huge spacers for the rear wheels, just smaller ones.

Frustrating thing is when looking at your old post, I realized I had responded and pointed out the issue with the way you posted the wheel sizes in your signature, and the fact that your wheels were most likely C6, and not C5. But appears that attempt to help was basically ignored.
