Anyone with summit stars?

Could someone tell me if a 15x8 summit star with a 5.5Backspace will fit over the front LT1 brakes? I know they fit great in back but I want to run them on all four corners. Thanks in advance.

i know the 15x4s fit up front, and the 15x8s fit back, but couldnt tell ya if the 15x8s fit fronts, im sure they do. Order two for the back, see if they fit the front, if so, order 2 more

BTW, they now have them in a greg-weld style too

Ya I doubt anyone is using them on the front. I was hoping someone might have test fit them though.

I suspect Summit and JEG's are having these wheels built off the old Weld XP design. When Weld sold out to AR, they dropped the Pro-Star XP line, and somebody else started making them. The XP's fit the LT1 4th Gens with no problems. The regular Pro-Stars don't have a problem based on width of the wheel. The problem is the center "disc" portion of the wheels. Even my 15x3.5" Pro-Stars have that problem in the front.

On the real Pro-Stars, the wheels are made of two forged pieces, a front and a back, that both have the center disc and a thick spacer between them. Its the "knuckle" where the center disc rolls over to become the rim that catches on the big horizontal arm that supports the front brake calipers. The center disc will also catch the springs that hold the pads in the caliper.

The Summit Stars, like the old XP's, are a one piece cast wheel, and don't have that same rolled "knuckle" on the back of the wheel.

I can't say with absolute certainty that they will work, but I think it might be worth trying. I'll keep pushing this up to the top of the forum, in the hope that someone who actually owns them can answer.
