Another 15x8 prostar question (read FAQ)

Setup: est 450rwhp 383cui lt1/t56 six speed Moser 9inch 4:11 gears (lt1 brakes)

The studs on my moser 9inch are the long 1/2inch or 5/8 size (I think!) Bigger than stock for sure though, had to get new lugs. Just cant remember size off hand.
The lugs ive been using take a 7/8 socket if that means anything.
The prostars I have are 15x8, dunno backspacing but they do contact the calipers just slightly on the fins from what I can see.

My issue is, when test fitting them it appears the studs are almost as big as the holes in the wheels-does not look like there is enough room for the ???? type of lug nuts to fit down inside. I dont have any lugs for it yet, and know nothing about this stuff.
Question, do I find some of those lugs with a super thin wall to fit in, or do the holes in the wheels need to be enlarged?

The FAQ looked like it was in some weird alien language to me, although iam sure its simpler than it looks. I couldnt find any posts where people had this problem, it seems everyone has stock size studs, just longer.

Thanks for any/all replies!

Re: Another 15x8 prostar question (read FAQ)

The required lug nuts are "shank" type. The length is included in the drag tire FAQ writeup. I've never seen anyone running 5/8" studs with the Pro-Stars, so you might not get a lot of answers if that's what you have. Go to Summit or JEG's or Weld and see if they sell a 5/8" shank style for the Pro-Stars. I run 1/2" studs, and no problem finding the correct lugs.

The interference between the back of the Weld wheels and the brake caliper fins does not depend on the backspace. Its just the way the center disc of the wheel is made, and rolls over to form the back of the rim.

Sorry you found our FAQ to be so difficult to follow. I've personally put a lot of work into it, and you are the first person to tell me its no good.

I just checked Weld, and they only list 7/16", 1/2" and 12mm:

I did not mean to offend, Injuneer. Iam not saying its difficult to follow, and certainly not saying its no good. Iam saying I, as in myself, get confused easily by numbers sometimes I was not bashing your FAQ, I was bashing myself if anyone.
The FAQ is very helpful and very detailed.
I have found it usefull, just not for this application since I have a odd stud size.

That said, despite my accidental bashing of your FAQ, you still took the time to look up lugs on the weld site and tell me what they are actually called, and I appreciate that. Some would not have bothered.

I will check jegs/summit for the correct lugs, thanks for your time and replies.
