38mm on a 97 SS?

whats the deal with the 38mm offset camaro and firebird wheels and the 50mm offsets? will a 38mm offset fit on my 97 SS? I was looking at a set of wheels, and they have a 38 mm offset, 19x8.5's and 19x9.5's. will they just stick out farther? i believe i have a 56mm offset of my front's right now, ZR's. but not sure about my rear 11" wide ones.

will these fit, not worried about the bolt pattern.

I'm not sure about the 11" wheels, but here's a picture of an SS with 38mm 17x9.5 wheels on all 4 corners. It's one of the nicest I've ever seen

i think i might have figured out the difference with the 2 offsets between the diff types of fbodys.

with the SS's and WS6's, you can have a larger off set because the rim is larger and will not interfere with the brakes and bump stops. since the wheels are smaller on the rs's, they need to stick out a little farther so they wont hit the bumpstops, or brakes.

I think i should be fine with a 9.5" wide rim with a 38mm offset. 19's are going to look sweet

Yes you should, it will sit very flush with the fender.

But if you want a second opinion I would strongly suggest you contact Fred the "Injuneer"

He's an expert with offset and backspace
