Will a Tial 38mm WG be big enough for a T76 with 10psi
Will a Tial 38mm WG be big enough for a T76 with 10psi
Will a Tial 38mm WG be big enough for a T-76 on my 355? As you all know(or most of you) im going with a PTK kit. I know the 38mm is what they come with..but will it be big enough to be able to run 10psi(without boost creep) on a 76 GTS????..on say a .6 bar spring

Re: Will a Tial 38mm WG be big enough for a T76 with 10psi
I don't have any real life experience yet since I haven't gone into boost with my T76 yet...
Mike had a 40mm on his T76GTS setup and removed the spring to see what it would creep up to and it hit 12psi.
If you want to keep it at 10psi, throw on a BOV that'll open at 10psi.

i don't think it's a deal breaker... If you only want 10psi, then a T76 is probably a bit too big. If you want that big of a turbo for later or for running on race gas/track days, then just use that wastegate and regulate the excess boost with a BOV.
The TiAL 50mm BOVs are very similar to wastegates in that they have springs to regulate boost. But if you put boost to the port on back, they won't open. So, just get a spring for 10psi, and leave the port disconnected. When you want the extra boost, hook that port up to your intake.
(You'll probably want a second BOV/BPV to vent pressure when the intake manifold is under vacuum.)

yeah, that would do it. gives you a little safety factor too in the event that the wastegate did freeze shut. You may overspin the turbo, but you'll save your engine from too much boost.

well, Jose says the turbosmart one will take it down to 10psi... He knows his stuff, so I'd take his advice there.
