325 on summit star wheels

Has anybody ever fit a set of 325's on a pair of summit star 15x10 rims with the goofy 6.5in backspacing? Is it even possible or will I rub the inside of the fender?

Definitely won't rub on the inside of the fender. The 6.5" backspace will put the tire outside the fender. You need a 7.5" backspace. I have an ET Drag 28x10.5-15W, which is exactly the same section width (13.1") and within 1/10" on the diameter (28.0" vs. 28.1") as the M/T ET Street Radial 325/50-15, and it doesn't rub on the inside of the fender with the correct 7.5" backspace. But my wheels wells were already hammered for 315's on 17x11's.

The 28" diameter shouldn't be a problem, since the radials don't "grow" like a bias-ply slick, but with the tire outside the fender, if the body squats at all, the fender lip is going to come right down on the sidewall or the tread.

I am running drag bags, drag shocks, and lca. The rear sits up pretty good, I wonder if I will have a problem with hitting the fender. My buddy ran these same rims, but I don't know if he ran a 28 in tire. Thanks Injuneer.

This is the same width tire, same diameter tire, on the same width wheel, but with a 7.5" backspace. The outer edge of your tire will be 1" more toward being outside the fender with the 6.5" BS..

Yea the look of being out another inch doesn't bug me any. I am just worried that the 28 in tall tire will rub the bottom lip of the fender. I cant really tell from that picture, but how much clearance between the fender and the top of the tire do you have?

Its not going to work with the 6.50 bs.

unless you get some air shocks and jack up the back end like the 70's

Click on the "Trailer Queen" link in my signature. I have Eibach Drag Launch springs in the back, so it sits maybe 1/2 taller than stock.

I think that I will just have to wait and try to find a deal on some used pro stars with the correct backspacing. How do you like those drag launch springs? Did you notice any real difference over stock springs? Your car looks downright nasty. Me likey.
