17x9.5 tire size
I drive a 2002 Z28 and was planning on purchasing some 17x9.5 wheels. Question is, what size tire would be ideal for this wheel size and will spacers be needed? Thanks!

Whether you need "spacers" will depend on the offset of the wheels. If you buy 17 x 9.5" wheels with an offset in the range of 45 - 56mm you will not have any problems.
These are 17 x 9.5 49mm offset wheels with 275/40-17 tires:

For tires, to avoid throwing the speedometer off, match the stock tire diameter. If your car had the 245/50-16 Z-rated tires, the 275/40-17 is the perfect diameter match. If your car had the base 235/55-16 tires, a 285/40-17 would be a better diameter match. With a 45mm offset, and the 285 tires, you might get some minor rubbing on the plastic fender liners in the front when the steering wheel is at full lock.
A tire diameter mismatch can also be addressed by reprogramming the tire diameter in the PCM program.
