2002 Z with 97 vette wheels
I read on here years ago that they will not clear in the rear. They certainly seem to and I do have a adj panhard so less slop in it. I do not feel safe with them though. They both seem to have a clearance of about 3/4 inch on the inside. I did add the spacers to the snubbers as well just in case of bottoming. Anyone else do the same? It has just standard typical tires on these wheels. Do you think they will possibly hit the snubber mounts in a stressed situation on a turn? I did not grind any off the mounts like I have seen.

Typically, the high offset wheels do not hit the jounce bumpers (snubbers) with the car at normal ride height. But if you jack the car up, as the wheel drops it MAY catch the outer edge of the jounce bumper bracket on the edge of the rim, damaging it.
My records indicate the 97-99 Corvette rear wheels are 18x9.5 with a 61mm offset. That produces a backspace of about 7.6". You don't get interference until the backspace approaches 7.9". I don't think you are going to have a problem, as long as the body is correctly centered side-to-side over the rear axle assembly, produing the same tire clearance on each side of the car.
This is a 17x11 50mm wheel with a 7.93" backspace, with a very wide 315/35-17 tire.

Yeah , that is why I opted for the adj panhard and it is centered. Cars looks good with factory chrome wheels since you do not see many with those but the vette wheels and wider rears look meaner. Thanks.
