17X11 ZR1 quick question

On the Zr1's whats the largest tire you can put on it? 315? I hate it when people have these skinny thin wall tires on there rims doesn't look right. I like meat on my rims.

The next size up would be a 335/35-17. That would be a 26.2" diameter tire, with a typical section width of 13.4 - 13.6". Most tire manufacturers recommend a wheel width of 11.0-13.0" for that tire, so its OK to mount it on the 17x11.0" ZR1 wheel. Michelin ($419 each at Tire Rack) and Pirelli ($494 each) make that size.

Hoosier makes a 335/35-17 drag radial, that is 13.5" wide, 12.5" tread width. They show the diameter as 25.4", which would be a bit smaller than stock.

The big problem will be whether it clears the inner fender. That's about 1" wider than the typical 315 tire, so its going to be a tight fit, being 1/2" closer to the inner fender than the 315. I have seen people post here who ran the 335's ("kmook").

Does anyone have a 335 on there ZR1???

I want to see what it looks like versus a 315 tire on a 17x11 ZR1
Will a 335 tire hurt performance like weight wise?

Any weight added to the wheels or tires slows the car down. The difference between a 315 and a 335 probably wouldn't be noticeable.

something else to look into is not all 315's are the same. Take for example a nitto 315 and a Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. nittos are tiny and the eagles are huge. If you want wider, get the eagles, they are wider and a great tire. 335's are sold even less than the 315's so the price will reflect that.
