17 X 11" Rims

Got a '96 Camaro SS with 17 X 11" wheels on the rear with Sumitomo P315/35R-17's mounted on them. Want to mount a set of P275/40-17 Nitto Drag Radials on these wheels. Will the wheels be too wide for the Drag Radials?

The Nitto data sheet for the 275/40-17 555R indicates it can be mounted on wheels 9.0" - 11.0" wide.

I put the 315 Nitto DR's on 11" rims with no fitting problems at all. Just a little hammering on the fronts of the inner fenderwells so they weren't too close.

Thanks for the info 2nd chances. I just need to decide whether I am going to use the 275/40-17's or the 315/35-17 Nitto drag radials.

What is your opinion?

if you have an 11 inch wheel, take advantage of it and use the 315

Ya if you already have the 17x11's it would be a waste not to use 315's.

no kidding, my nittos don't have any noticible bulge on the sidewall on an 11" rim....so they are definatly not too big. but i can't imagine a wheel that is over an inch narrower...it would look gay...and serve no purpose.
