15x10 on my 95'?

I'm gonna either get Summit or weld prostars...what will it take to get 15x10 w/7.5" backspacing on it.....It will probably have 26" slicks on it so I dont change the gearing on the car....Thanks

The fins need to be ground of the brake calipers for the rear Welds to fit. There is a detailed writeup on the 15x10 7.5" BS Welds in the Drag Wheels FAQ, including a picture of the calipers. Note that the Summit wheels are NOT the same as the Pro-Stars. The Pro-Stars are a light-weight track wheel, made in two forged pieces. The Summit wheels, which LOOK like the Welds, are actually made from the old Weld XP design, and are heavier street wheels, forged in a single piece. Good for the street, but not as good for the track. I think the Summits may fit without grinding the calipers, though.

You will not run into any problems with 26" slicks.

Always good to start with the FAQ's and the other topics "stickied" at the top of the Wheels and Tires forum topic page.

I did read over the stickies a little, that's where I found the backspacing I needed, I read that I will prolly need to grind the fins which doesn't bother me....I wondered if the bumpstops and LCA's would clear....Whats the widest tire I could run on the 15x10 without issues of rubbing and what if I were to go with a 28" tire......My plans are probably to run the summits on the front all the time and summits on the rear for on the street then get a set of welds for on the rear to mount my slicks on.....I'm thinking the summits will be a better wheel to run on the street, I believe they will be stronger...but yea I know heavier.

I run 28" ET Drags and there is info in the sticky. 28x12.5-15 ET Street would fit better than the 28x10.5-15W that I run because they are a bit narrower. I don't know about the bump stop bracket, because mine were already ground down for 315/35-17's. You won't have an problems with the LCA's.

Looking at your mods list, you don't need 28" slicks. Why complicate things with oversize tires when you don't need them?

Note that these cars are all different in the way the wheels/tires fit. I had no problems with the inside fender liners running 28x11.5-15 QTP's, but tnthub with the same wheels/tires had to cut out the entire inner fender liner, including the bump stop to make them fit.

What back spacing do you need to run the Summit wheels? I thought they only sold the rears with 5.5 back spacing?

Read the FAQ. With the 28x10.5-15W ET Drags, I had to cut about 1" off the leading edge of the bumper cover. At about 140MPH that's how much the tires grew. How much clearance do you have to the front edge of the wheel opening? You can move the rear axle forward and backward with adjustable LCA's to center the tires. Just remember, if you have rubber or poly bushings in the LCA's, they are going to compress under heavy load, and the axle will move forward slightly.

I'm running 15x10 draglites and they bolted right up, no modifications at all. It is very close to the calipers but not touching.
