02 SS ZR-1 Wheels

I have a 02 SS with the ZR-1 wheels. I was wondering the specs on these wheels. Offset/Backspacing/Bolt pattern/Wheel size 17x???. I'm thinking about replacing them with a set of Z06 wheels would they be the same specs all the way around? Are either set of wheels directional? Hope someone can help thanks!!!

Are you saying that your SS has the factory wheels that resembled ZR1 wheels, or that you have aftermarket ZR1 wheels?

The factory SS wheel size is 17x9" with a 275/40R17 tire, and I believe the factory offset is +45mm. If you can find Z06 replica wheels with those specs, that would be ideal. If all you can find is 17x9.5, that will be fine too. In that case, a slightly higher offset (~50mm) will maintain the factory look, but you'd be hard-pressed to notice the difference.

The bolt pattern is 5x4.75. Do not use 5x120mm. It's similar enough to bolt up, but it's a bad idea.

In the rear, you can go up to 17x11 (tire section width is 315; offset is 50mm). If you go that route, you'll probably need to roll the fender wells to avoid damaging your tires.

As far as I know, wheels can only be directional in a cosmetic sense. Neither the C5 Z06 nor the C6 Z06 wheel designs are asymmetrical, which means you don't have to worry about it.

Factory offset on the SS and WS6 wheels is 50mm.

00/01 SS wheels are no longer made, so you have to buy used. I have a set of chrome 10 spoke SS wheels FS, 2 excellent, 2 peeling on inside of rims but good faces. 550 plus shipping. If interested, email me. paul@obsessionwithperfection.com

They are OEM, 17x9 50mm. Best fit, IMHO, and perfect for 275/40-17s. If you are concerned about hooking, buy MT ET Street Radials... they'll only last about 3k on the street, but hook like a wrinkle wall.

If you want brand new, and have some money to spend, Tom's Wheels has a variety of aftermarket replica stuff. No 10 spokes tho AFAIK.
