Coast, lake or river ... we have all 3 ...

The further south along the coast the better. It's clearer and cleaner.

Lake? pick an area. We have prairie lakes up on the panhandle to heavy wooded lakes around Texarkana to Houston to Austin.

River? Austin san Antonio (hill country) or the Rio Grande, Big Bend area if you want a little more seclusion.

I heard it's very hot down there almost everyday. Is that true?? It's allot cheaper to live down there.

Re: Thinking about moving to Texas - Need some info

its not as hot as you think...you'll love the idea of being able to drive your Z year-round

lets see today's weather was a low of a 46 and high of 75, and not a cloud in the sky

sometimes the summers can be really hot (well at least around the san antonio area anyways) but that's only once every 3 years or so.

ive gotta say i really like it here!

"Hot" is a relative term.

You will see temps in the 90s from June through September and in the 100s a few days during that time.

So, yes it can get hot for 3 or 4 months.

The trade off is very little snow. We see more ice, than snow.

And, like stated above, in mid January, it's 70 degrees outside ... and has been in the 60s and 70s most of this "winter".
