Question about SA Raceway
Test and tune every wednesday and friday nights...although it's a MUCH nicer track, you'll probably only get a handful of runs in a night because of the amount of people that show up there.
But, in retrospect, things I miss about Alamo:
1. Mosquitos...keep you company when you're waiting for the next run
2. Off roading...I always worried how my lowered Formula would react to off road situations until I used the return road at Alamo. I think I've lost some HP from the dings and dents on my Y-pipe thanks to that.
3. Loss of traction...I often enjoyed the tires breaking loose about 100' out where there is a sudden transition in the surface of the track.
4. MPH increase...You can always tell who races at both tracks, because when asked what they run, they state "my best time is XX.xx at RCR, but my best mph is XXX at Alamo (I've seen it around 2 mph dif. between the two tracks)
5. Last, and certainly not least, I often think back to the time when NOCATZZ and I lined up. We both do impressive, smokey burnouts...roll up to the line...the staging lights illuminate...and as I look over at my opponent to give him the friendly finger before slamming the Formula up into first, I notice that my friend appears to be moving. At that point my concentration is turned to the staging lights as I notice a pair go out. With all of this confusion happening, I realize as the tree begins to drop that I have coasted back a few inches awaiting my jaunt down the quarter mile. As I finally get my bearings and realize that the car is still in neutral, I see the not so familiar look of Z28 tailights (hehe, just kidding Josh) taking off into the darkness. Long story short, the far lane has a slight incline to it, so manual transmission guys may have some problems.
All in all, SA raceway is a much nicer track. But Alamo has better cheese for the nachos, the beer is cheaper, and the rice is plentiful.
Yes, I am bored

I don't want to hi-jack your thread, but do any others care to share any experiences at Alamo??
I almost forgot....I believe Alamo is the resting place of the FIRST EVER prototype for the "Port-a-Pot."

alamo only takes 15 minutes to go to from my house, where as rcr takes about 30.
i love alamo cause i am a cheap bastard, but i wish they would tell those non-racing son of a biches to park thier POS cars in the grass so us racers could park on the pavement.
