New laser or radar ?
New laser or radar ?
I have drove by Hurst PD and others around dfw and not a peep out of my phantom II detector, are they using a new type of detection? It appeared to look like a laser, had red dot I could see from my car.

they use a regular laser gun. i think it's a stalker. i was checking out one of their guns a few weeks ago. they won't bother you unless you hit right around 77. they have dedicated traffic guys, but they are in regular patrol cars.

Lasar doesn't "scatter" like radar does. It is a very narrow pinpoint beam, and they are trained to point it at a license plate, to get the best reflection. So, if your lasar detector goes off, chances are real good they are aiming at YOU!
Just one of those tid bits the detector salesman forgot to mention..

And my plate is on the air damn, not near my windshield. I just got a set of plates, ran with only rear since I bought the car, but thought I'd reduce the chance of BS ticket, since SO many have only rears.
