Need clutch alignment tool in SA

I am changing out my clutch and I have everything back together, but I can't get the trans to align with the pilt bearing and clutch. I am in need of an alingment tool and can't locate one. If you are in San Antonio and know where I can get one, please send me a messgae.

Its for a 2000 Z28.

Thanks

Re: Need clutch alignment tool in SA

dunno how much you tried, but I've installed my T56(s) several times w/o an alignment tool... I just eyeballed it very carefully before tightening the pressure plate & installing the bell housing,, then put the tranny on my chest, lifted the tranny, slid the splines thru the pressure plate, and 'worked' it around some until it slid into place (into the pilot bearing)... sometimes it takes a couple of realignments... I used to have one of those plastic alignment tools (bought it the first time I pulled the tranny), but quite honestly it was too flixible to align the stuff properly and actually did a worse job than I did 'eyeballing' it.

disclaimer: don't try to lift a ~150 lb tranny over your chest in an awkward position if you think you may drop it/hurt yourself/pop a hemorrhoid

hope this helps a little
