Go to Auto Zone and buy a generic noid light and put the leads between the pink and dark green wires and that will tell you if you have a signal to the coil !! I can walk you through this , but it would be VERY extensive and time consuming !!!! But , I'll be glad to help in any case !! Ed O'Neil

 

Well tested the coil and its getting spark, or at least has current. Wasn't sure if it was testing right at home so I had autozone test it for me. So could the only other thing be the opti?

 

Chris: Pull a spark plug out and hold it to the frame of the car. Have someone try to start the car while you watch for spark. If you aren't getting a bright spark the opti is a goner. Sorry I couldn't help this weekend, but my car broke down while I was in Dallas. Its probably the opti on mine as well.

hey make sure its not the fuel pump cause my friends would start either and then he replaced the fuel pump and it started right up just a suggestion thanks. chris

since these mods i have added eibach pro kit lowering springs,they have chrome zo6 wheels and, 2 infiniti 12's with a kenwood amp it sounds real good, the car sounds real good cause i did some experimenting with the exhaust

 

Pretty sure my pump works, I'm getting gas to the engine and I can hear the pump turn on when I turn the key. I believe I've exhausted all the likely reasons after talking with everyone on here, and will probably order a new opti from dal or jason this week. I guess thats the best route, I don't have lots of money to go replacing everything that could be the reason, so I'm hoping the opti is the culprit. If not I'm screwed, but from what everone has like 96-speed and shoebox it has to be the opti. I'm just **** about making sure its that before ordering because like I already stated I don't have a lot of money with credit problems, and I don't wanna buy something and find the car still doesnt start because it wasnt right. Any suggestions would help to further my decision to order an opti.

 

yeah but my friends cars pump turned on but it wasnt making the pressure it should so he took a fuel guage and tested it and it was only 10p of pressure but it still turned on but just check it and if im wrong then it could be the opti but if im right i just saved you 100 dollars at least cause the fuel pump is 190. dollars but just trying to help you out my friends did the exact same thing yours saying and he replaced the coil,and the opti and then the fuel pump and that was it but good luck anyways.

Well I'm trying to decide if I'm gonna order the opti tomorrow. Still just being **** about making sure that its gonna solve my problem. Review: I am recieving plenty of fuel and "pressure" to engine, no spark when I pulled a plug off, got coil tested and its okay at least thats what the goober at autozone said. Car turns over just don't start. Does everything point towards the opti, and does anyone think that replacing it will actually let my car start.
