Introduction ...

Just taking a moment to introduce myself. I just purchased a 1995 Z28. I used to hang out at the Corvette Forum, but recently sold the Corvette. The Camaro is a big change from the Corvette which was an L98 auto. I really like the LT1 and 6spd, but that skip shift has got to go. The Corvette was a great car, but I wanted a little back seat, so my wife and my 2 year old daughter could go on cruises with me.

I live in the Austin metro area and look forward to meeting some of you as events come up. I like to work on my cars myself as I have time and hope to get some good advice from the forum.

Welcome to the board. And your new purchase. Has the mod bug bit yet?

Oh yeah ... plenty of ideas. The only mod this car has is an SLP short shifter. I don't want to get too radical or anything, but the wish list at this point includes CAGS delete, Tint, early C5 wheels, K&N FIPK, sub-frame connectors, new muffler, strut-tower brace, C5 or Baer front brake upgrade ... probably in that order. I'll wait for the tires to wear out before looking for wheels.

I'd like to keep this car relatively stock for daily driving, but set it up for the occasional performance driving school weekend. I think my wife and I would really enjoy going to those and learning to autocross.

I'll wait on mods until I get a better idea about the overall condition of the car. It appears to be in pristine condition, only 60,000 miles, but I need some time to change all the fluids and just generally take a look around. The maintenance records were good, and much better than you usually get with a used car, but not 100%. It runs like new, and doesn't appear to need anything at the moment. However, based on the records, it looks to need all the fluids changed, and probably the plugs. I'll know the car pretty well after taking some time to do all those things.
