I was curious that if I have thrown egr codes in the past, yet they are not showing at the present time, when I take the car to get inspected, will they find these codes, or only look for current codes? The car is a 96 T/A w/ OBDII, so just the plug in and check.

Hey i'm an inspector and have a few questions before i can give u a direct answer so did you have the codes erased or did they just go away after fixing the problem. Where do you live i am in houston north west side.

 

Well.. the code pops up about every month or two, stays on for a few start-ups and then the light goes off and doesnt show for another month or two. From what I can tell everything is and has been hooked up right, yet the code pops up. Will clearing it at autozone do the trick? Ive had it cleared once or twice and let it just go away on its own a couple times also. I'm located at Cypresswood and 45. Thanks for the advice.

 

Ok Bud heres what u gonna need to do the problem won't be fixed if you just erase it. First of all what is the name of the code? My business is located on Huffmiester and Schmidt Rd. the physical adress is 13811 Schmidt Rd. Cypress, TX but you can see us right next to car quest we are call Sticker Plus Station.
