Planning on getting some Lt's and I was wondering if there was anyway to pass emissions with them? I know I can get a some that comes with cats, but they cost alot. Could I get a set that comes with AIR,EGR connections, and weld in one highflow cat? Would that pass?

 

So long as you have OBD 2 then you shouldnt have to worry about it..... unless they do a visual. I still have cats because I have shorties.....but I dont have the EGR and AIR stuff on my headers. All they do for OBD 2 (which it looks like you have a 96, so you should be OK) is plug into your data port and read the computer. You are going to have to get all that crap turned off in the PCM so that it wont throw a code, and you should pass with flying colors..... I do.

 

If they do a visual and they aren't "cool", then there is no way to pass. Always go to where there are similar cars parked outside to get it inspected. Long tubes are great to have, just becomes a pain when that time of year comes around Good luck.

 

In Texas it's a matter of who you know. Somebody somewhere knows someone who will do it (pass you) for a few bucks more or for free. Here in Laredo I have a hook up, had one when I lived 2 years in Mcallen too. I know people who live in SA when they come down here to visit family or whatever, they just get it done.

 

stickers are easy to get i can get them by lifting the phone never have to even take the beast down there. all they need is information and the will run someones elses car. then you have a sticker thats is registered to your car and no one elses that is important to have papers and everything. where do you live.
