On my GSXR it was $425 per year with only liability, but I owned my bike. If you finance any of the bike, it will be anywhere between $900-$2500, depending on deductables and previous driving record. The best thing to do, is to pay cash and just get liability. Call progressive or AIG Auto...I use AIG and they are VERY reasonable. Full coverage will kill you on a bike.

well, i'm 25 and pay $62 a month for full coverage on my '98 750, but when i was 18 and wanted a bike it was almost 5k a year. liability is cheaper, but you really need to get theft insurance unless you are with the bike 24/7. they are way to easy to steal even with locks, chains, etc. lots of people paying on bikes they crashed/had stolen a few years ago. i'd save as much cash as you can, get some good gear and keep an eye out for a deal. i found my '01 F4i track bike with a clear title, 4k miles, race body, lots of goodies for $2500. its hard to find good deals this time of year.

here's me on my gixxer.

i don't officially race, just a few track days, but i'd like to get my road racing license this year and get some more track time. i bought my f4i so i wouldn't kill my street bike, and it was already race prepped.

For what it's worth I bought a Honda VTR1000 (Super Hawk) when I was 19 and I pay about $30 a month for liability only thru Progressive.
