can someone PLEASE help me stop my side windows from getting scratched?
Re: can someone PLEASE help me stop my side windows from getting scratched?
If the scratching is on the inside of the windows, and they are in vertical lines, then there are two gold colored plates that push the window away from the inside of the door. they each have a fuzzy material on the ends of them, this can rub away or fall off alltogether. Try replacing those, that was my problem. They are each held on with one bolt, prob $10 at the dealer.
Now where's my million dollars?

whats ur paypal address so i can paypal that to u asap
its scratching on the outisde, and a little bit on the inside(the tint is gettnig a little messed up), but for the outside, on a different z28 i experimented and found a couple parts that were made out of felt that had gotten rusted and looked like they were making the scratches, so i tore them off, but they were attached by rivets, and i went to the dealer, and they didnt know what part that was and had nothing to giv eme, so everytime i shut my door it make a clanking sound bc nothing was there to stop the moving of the door, it was annoying the sh*t out of me, luckily i wrecked it shortly after and didnt hav eto deal w the problem any more

Besides the positioning plates that Red Blur discribed, both the inner and outer lower window rubber seals can get dirt imbedded in them. The inner seal is attached to the inner door panel and so the entire door panel can be remove to clean the seal. For the outer seal you'll have to lower or remove the window "down" stop/s, near the bottom of the door, so that the window will go down passed the outer seal, then you can clean it.

what about those 2 felt things i was talking about? you can see them if you roll the window all the way down and you pull back the seal,
