Talking Biggest Freak-in Cruise! Vernon,TX

YES! IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN! THE BIGGEST & BADDEST CRUISE IN TEXAS! You must go and see this. Last year there was over 15,000 cars, who knows how many people. It starts this Thursday. It starts kickin Friday night. Tons and Tons of street racing. Bring your fat tires. Friday there's a big concert. Then Saturday is the huge cruise. Girls, Girls, Girls. Hell ya there's beer! Then more street racing. Sunday is the car show (I think? usually too drunk too tell). Come on up! There's plenty of mustang bait to spank.

The cops will have guns. Does that count? The cops are usually pretty cool during this big event.

North Texas. Go up 287 from Wichita Falls about 50 minutes. It's well worth it Saturday, but don't plan on getting a hotel room. There all booked almost a year in advance. The big car show is Sunday. The big cruise is Saturday night. They block off several streets and everything.

Basically I contracted and paid for a motor which he "built", mysteriously it lost a .25" stroke and 34 cubic inches by the time I got it. I wouldnt have even got it except I showed up on his door step for the THIRD time and took it away. None of the brands of parts I was to get were in the motor nor was the steel even 4340 as specified in the crank/rods. Chunks of metal in the pan and lifter valley and heads, even a moth in the oil pan. Not a drop of assembly lube anywhere etc etc etc. When I contacted him about it he sent me "replacement" parts which were worse quality than what I had first got from him. The kicker was that once I did the assembly myself and was priming the motor, I discovered that this was not even a good block. It had been machined incorrectly at Merlin and the main oil galley had punched through into the water jacket. Not his fault obviously but two things come to mind, (1) he had not even prelubed or checked the oiling system (which by the way had an entire tooth missing off the drive gear) and (2) he had possession of a block that according to Bill Mitchell/World Products should have been destroyed and was not supposed to have been outside of thier control.

There, thats about it in a nutshell except for a variety of engine build issues that were discovered.
