Anyone done this swap?
I'm looking for anyone in the San Antonio area thats done an LT1 swap into a carbed vehicle (particularly a 2nd gen f-bod) who's willing to maybe help me out with my swap. If y'all know anyone, or have the know-how yourself I'd sure appreciate the help.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You could try talking to the guys at High Performance Salvage to see if they can give you any help, although I don't know how much help they will give you because that's what they do as a business . But then again, I've done business with them several times and they've always been helpful. You can check out their "Project Cars" on the website to see what they've done. And hey, they're just outside San Antonio . Hope that helps some.

Two main problems you will run into are the fuel system and the accessory drive.
You need a return to the tank, or you can buy a tank with the pump and fittings already done.
The F-body accessory drive and a/c pump won't clear the frame, so you will either have to notch the frame, or change to a different drive system. You can use either the Vette bracket, or Street and Performance (high dollar).
If you use the OD or T56 trans, the aluminum driveshaft Summit and Jegs sells for the Mustang is the right length, but you have to swap yokes and u-joints.
Luckily, all the mounts on the LT1 are the same, other than the trans crossmember, which can be slid back.
There is a lot of info on the 2nd gen swap over at
