Actually I will probably be at OC next spring. After I break in the engine I am going to make a few runs just to see what it does campared to what it did.
I ran a 13.9 at 101 year before last. I have since switched to a 3.42 gear from a 2.73. I am swapping in a T56 with a lightweight SLP flywheel.

The engine is a nearly stock rebuild. .030 over forged pistons. Milled head gasket matched balanced blueprinted. That is about all that is allowed.

BTW do any of you know if there is a place near hear who does header coatings?

 

Tefco in Niles does cereamic coatings, thats where pretty much all the drag guys around here get headers coated at. ill try to come up with a phone # for you

I have had alot of stuff going on this winter. I have not had a chance to work on the car like I was hoping.

So I need help ASAP. Is there a place in the michiana area that can be trusted to remove an engine? Alot of the work is already done. But I am at the point where I know I can not get it done in time. I need to have the new engine broken in by the begining of May.

I dont want to spend an arm and a leg, but need someplace now.

BTW has anyone used Ultra Tech Race Engines. They are in Mish or SB. The maching work prices seem pretty good an I was going to go with them.

 

Ultra-tech does good work. they are on Byrkit street in mishawaka.

as for the engine removal and installation, i work on quite a few F-bodys and could do it but i dont think i have time right now with all the projects ive got going on. if you want i could give you the phone # of my buddy down the road from me who could do it and you could see what he has to say about price etc. he is starting his own shop right now on the side (Vande Racing). he does really great work. btw, he also does engine building and machining himself now and might be able to make a deal on doing yours. the only thing he cant do is the balancing, which he takes to Shaker. he would probably be willing to beat Ultra-tech's price, but i dont know, you would just have to see what he says. email me if you are interested and ill give you his number and you two can talk things over. thanks
