Hey guys, I'm new here. I have a '98 Camaro with the 3800. I'm just curious on how I would know if my car has the Y87 package on it. I saw on a site that it would have a few things including rear rotors and a dual exhaust. Well, my car has rear rotors, but didn't come stock with the dual exhaust... that was aftermarket.

So, how do I know for sure?

 

all camaro's and firebirds that have 1 outlet for exhaust do not have the y87 option. y87 fb's and camaro's have dual outlet exhaust with the lsd and the better gears. my 2000 fb has that option it doesnt say y87 tho it just says in the door jam gu6 and g80 which are the option codes for 342 gears and the lsd dont know y it dont say y87 lol

 

All 98 and up camaro and 'birds had 4 wheel disc brakes.

The y87 package had the dual outlet muffler and a 3.42/posi rear for autos and a 3.23/posi rear for M5s.

Yeah thats true but I believe what he was saying is that he isn't sure if his car came with the Dual Exit Muffler / Turndowns, or Single Exit Muffler because someone put a different exhaust system on there. Meaning he doesn't know if it's a Y87 or not.

Check the door where it lists all the options and it will tell you...
