Wires burning? help...

hello, i got a 95 camaro v6....looking at the engine..to the left side u have the battery...right above it more towards the left, there are wires running covered by a black plastic...there was smoke coming from that area (smelled ike burning plastic) as well as from the engine fan, a friend of mine said there was probably a short and the smoke from the fan probably came from the smoke being sucked in by the fan.....anyhow, can anybody tell me what caused this prob...possible inexpensive solutions..anything...thx

Re: Wires burning? help...

Most likely a short or something drawing way too much current. Check the wires and make sure they are not opened/cut/ruined or touching a ground somewhere.
