Wires Arcing?

Arcing? (if thats how you spell it)

The car pulls Very strong when I really step on it, but normal driving, It will intermitintly pop or stumble at times.

My wires came with that black plastic sheething that is ribed, it keeps burning onto parts of the headers and such, I'm going to stop at a speed shop and try to get insulated stuff that I can put over the wires to prolong their life.

I read the great miss fire post and I know this is probably the biggest problem with out 3.8L's in this car, but does any body think I have the right approach? or do I need new wires all together again?

Re: Wires Arcing?

i'd get new wires if those are burned

also get DEI or some kind of boot protection!
Summit is selling some boot protections for $40 for a set of 8

I've had arcing before, I thought that if I put aluminum foil over the wires that would stop the heat a little, it just made it worse

Re: Wires Arcing?

high heat, quality wires, a really good heat shield or ceramic boots (Jacobs ignition) and keeping the wires away from teh headers will do the trick.
