Why the 2 piece drive shaft ?

Why the 2 piece drive shaft ?

Why in the world did GM see fit to put a 2 piece DS on the V6's ? It has more parts and must cost more , I don't get it.

Someone enlighten me please.

Reduces vibration. You can replace it with a 1-piece.

Is there a reason the V8's did nit get a 2 piece then ?

The 2 piece is too weak for the V8 engines I believe.
