they're supposed to go from 0 - 60 in 7.5 seconds tops
Although I've been up to 60 in just 6 seconds...
Re: what should i do?
I just picked up a 94 v-6 and I am debating on what I want to do with it..Even though I have everything to do a LT1 swap, I think I am going to spray the hell outta the v-6 till it blows then put the LT1 in the biatch. Maybe that'll help your decision
Re: what should i do?
I respect the v6s. Radcats is amazing. But for the time/money involved. You could spend a few thousand getting it to hang with a lt1/ls1. Or do the swap then start modding the v8 as money/time allows.
Everybody yells turbo, I would rather have a turbo 350.... mmmm or 427. There are bigger things than the stock 350s.
As a reference, I ran a 3.8 with 100 shot many times at the track. I was driving my 95z, 4.10s, flowmaster. Those were the only mods at the time. I killed him off the line, then stayed a nose ahead of him each lap. He was a few tenths slower (1-2) but we had the same mph each time. Another 1000ft he might could have taken me.
Now, it would take a lot more than 100 shot.

your car should be much faster, probably twice as fast as that.
as for th questions hard to say... depends what you want.
The better route is to do the v8 long run it will be faster for cheaper.
But if you are content with a high 14 second car and keeping it cheap, semi-reliable mod the v6.
If you want 13s or faster, especially without juice I'd do a v8 swap...
Re: what should i do?
i agree Jesse's (radcat) car is amamazing, one of the reasons i feel that it is amazing is becasue it IS a turbo v6. Its something diffrent. Turbo you 8 and some people can still hang. THere is a major aftermarket on the lt1/ls1 where there is not on the 3.4 or 3.8.
Re: what should i do?
I have both a V6 and LS1. You would have spend a bunch of benjamins to keep up with a stock LS1. Then the LS1 guy/girl installs headers ($375), air lid ($75), cam/valve train ($500), ported TB ($65) and a few free mods for ~ $1000. Then what will you do and how much will it cost to squeeze out 400+ RWHP that the LS1 now has?
Convert to V8 or just buy an LSx car.

Re: what should i do?
your not going to get that much out of the ol six banger. unless u have two power adders(turbo and Juice) The thing is, there are xxx, xxx, xxx ls1 that push 400hp and only xxx v6 pushing over 300ish hp.
and im not sure on that 400RWhp with those listed mods for the ls1...

Re: what should i do?
It all boils down to what you want. Do you want to be known as one of those precious few v6 guys running 11s or 12s (or 13's NA like I mentioned before)? You can spend a bunch of money on the v6 to make it fast, or you can get the LS1 car, dump $1500 into it, and be just another LS1 in the 11s.

No, you clearly stated with the mods I listed you doubted 400 RWHP. Not how many.
Tru2Chevy, just another LS1 in the 10's with stock internals.
Chill dudes, I own a 1994 V6 Camaro and love it. It will probably outlast my LS1. To date, the '94 has never had the valve covers off, original starter, original water pump, even the original exhaust, etc.
Brakes, tires, battery, oil changes, trans fluid, rear end fluid and that is it.
Have a good day!

(3.4L pistons dont like juice)
Re: what should i do?
excuse me... im not a V8 god, but a ls1 is pushing high 200's rwhp, a cam would have to be very intense to do 400 rwhp. I wouldnt want one with that large of lift. To much strain on the engine.
