Question v6 mod hsp question...

By next summer, I hope to have the usual mods that ive seen in this forum by most of you v6 guys.

I gotta 02 v6 right now w/full borla catback, whats my hsp with that at now? 205 or so?

What would my horses be at with, rksport headers, the full borla catback exhaust, a cold air intake (w/ the whisper lid, K&N filter)???

Also, can I get a racing chip? and how much do these run and how much hsp gain will that gain me on top of all those mods?

thanks

I like the borla alot, I run it on the loudest sounding setting, I believe you get 3 plates w/it, I run it thru the one w/the largest whole. People around here think its a v8, but then again, they dont know much about cars. If your gonna get an exhaust, Id go w/borla I like it a whole lot.

from arlington heaights huh? im from bartlett...

anyways...my friend has a 98 3.8l v6 and he did clear image headers which are WAY better then the RK SPORT...trust me, the price difference is worth it if u DO get headers at all...however, everyone i know with v6's,stay away from headrs b/c they give u like 5hp...worth the hundreds of dollars? i say hell no! do n20 for the same price and gain at least 10-15x more hp...

If "I" had a v6, i probably would still do headers if i had the money...but i'd probably just run 3.42's with a yank 2800stall, nitrous, lid, ram-air,suspension, BORLA catback...thebest exhust in IMO..stay away from the flowmaster muffler...thats just plain sick...

your hp with the borla is not much to write home about. unfortunatly when you get everything else you mentioned, it will only be a tad bit more than with your borla. you will feel a difference when you get the airlid and the cai. but the hp gain when it comes to numbers is very small compared to our V8 brothers. when modding: the more you have to start with, the more mods help. therefore we start with little and we gain little. i have cia headers and yes they are nice, but rksport headers will do the same thing if you weld them. thats their only problem- they leak.
you do have a choice though when it comes to "chips" there is the maft+ which allows you to adjust the airlflow ratio and timing at regular and wide open throttle. and i believe there is a hypertech power programmer for the 02. that lets you do all kinds of things. i have the maft+ and it works great. i just ordered the hpp3 which i plan to fix the spedometer to go with my 3.73s and adjust my shift points and hopefully find a way to get my car from running so lean.
good luck to ya.
