V6 to LS1

Its usually easier to find a junked donor car and swap over the needed parts and wiring harnesses. There is a company called Speartech that modifies factory harnesses to work with specific conversions as well.

motor shouldn't be that hard to pull out - bolt in as the V8 has the same body etc.,. However, you are going to have to mess with wires and probbaly will need to buy a new CPU ( just to much pain to do it any other way, in my opinion). Also, keep in mind you probably will also need to get a new tranny.
I geuss I would agree with the above post but in a diffrent way; if you've got a LS1 engine sitting around somewhere and looking for a place to put it then it would probably be cheaper, and easier, for you to go find a dead V8 car at a junkyard or something ( maybee <1K if lucky), unless your like me and just looking for a garage project to keep you busy
good luck
